Allie Belle McCurdy Mantel

Mrs. Allie Belle McCurdy Mantel, 86, of Forrest Avenue, East Brewton, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and former resident of Jay, Fla., before moving to East Brewton in 1939. She was a member of Cedar Hill United Methodist Church and was retired from the State of Alabama Department of Human Resources with 27 years of Service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bascum and Minnie Lee Grice McCurdy; and her husband, Earnest W. Mantel.
She is survived by a son, Earnest Larry Mantel of East Brewton; three sisters, Faye Sullivan of Tulsa, Okla., Jeanette (McRae) Henderson of Crestview, Fla., and Annette (Melvin) Applewhite of Monticello, Miss.; a grandchild, Jill (LaGette) McIntyre of Niceville, Fla.; a great-grandchild, Christopher McIntyre of Niceville, Fla.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 10 to 11a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25 at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Vanlandingham officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
