John ‘Red Eye’ Harold Williams

Mr. John “Red Eye” Harold Williams, Sr. 70, of St. Nicholas Avenue, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Phenix City, and a long time resident of Brewton. He was a member of Rock Hill Assembly of God Church, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion, and a retired furniture salesman. He was preceded in death by a son, John Harold Williams Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Dubose Williams of Brewton; two daughters, Ronda Williams and Ramona Agerton, both of Brewton; two step-daughters, Darlene Booker of Rock Creek, and Teresa Knowles of Brewton; two step-sons, John Booker and Pat Booker, both of Rock Creek; two brothers, Ray Williams and Charlie Williams, both of Phenix City; three sisters, Mary Oakes, Barbara Ann Stewart and Helen Brown, all of Phenix City; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Amanda Williams.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 30, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Gwinette Lindsey and the Rev. Herbert Heller officiating. Burial followed in Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
