Mrs. Mildred Jane Pierce Long, 76, of Roseland Circle died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at her residence after a brief illness. She was a native of Tillamook, Ore., and a former resident of Louisiana, before moving to Brewton, in 1973. She was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church and a retired insurance agent from Horton Insurance Agency with 36 years of service. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Pierce and Alan Pierce.
She is survived by a son, Jay Eugene (Debbie Oliver) Long Jr. of Brewton; two daughters, Debbie Ann (Randy) Johns and Karen Dee (Wayne) Lindsey, both of Brewton; two brothers, Dale Pierce of Medical Lake, Wash., and Mike Pierce of Ashland, Ore.; nine grandchildren, David Johns, Keri (Jonathan) Holliman, Jaine Salter (Albert) Patton, Jack Long, III, Cody (Lacey) Long, Nathan Lindsey, Jonathon (Melissa) Lindsey, Jason (Kristal) Lindsey and Jennifer (Clay) Beagle; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King and the Rev. Rex Long officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
