Mr. Darren Jay Wilson Sr., 50, of College Street in Flomaton died Friday, September 21, 2012 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Houston, Texas and a long time resident of Flomaton. He worked as a forklift driver for Bondurant Lumber Company for 25 years, and was of the Pentacostal faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Wilson; his mother, Helen Burley Wilson; and a sister, Evelyn Wilson Moye.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Minchew Wilson of Flomaton; a son, Darren (Briana) Wilson Jr. of Winfield; a stepson, Christiopher Lee Butts of Atmore; a stepdaughter, Courtney Renee Butts of Mobile; two brothers, Darrell (Nora) Wilson and Farron (Michell) Wilson, both of Flomaton; three sisters, Denise (Chris) Wilson of Atmore, Ethelene (Roy) Coleman of Brewton, and Vivian (Brett) Perry of North Carolina; and three grandchildren- Landon Wilson, Cameron Wilson, and Tristian Wilson.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 24, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Weaver Cemetery, Castleberry, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
