Hazel Elizabeth Armstrong Dixon

Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Armstrong Dixon, 86, died Monday, January 7, 2013 in a Montgomery hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and long time resident of Montgomery. She attended Pentecostal Life Church in Montgomery, and was a retired home caregiver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Leonard Dixon; a son, Houston Lionel Dixon; and a grandson, James Wilder.
She is survived by two sons, Billy Wayne Dixon and George Russell Dixon, both of Montgomery; five daughters, Charlotte Dixon (Charles) Croom of Deatsville, Linda Hamrick of Morrisborra, N.C., Lynell Lambert and Susie Mims, both of Wetumpka, and
Nancy Moore of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Marvin Armstrong of Montgomery; two sisters, Mary Wood of Montgomery, and Sue May Phillips of Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. at Dixonville Cemetery with the Rev. Larry MacEnderfar officiating. Burial followed in Dixonville Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
