Mr. Robert John Smith Sr., 74 of Dailey Street, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and former resident of Conecuh County, and a long time resident of East Brewton. He was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church, a 1957 graduate of Evergreen High School, and a retired pulp mill supervisor with more than 40 years of service from Smurfit Stone.
He is survived by his wife, Olivia Thames Smith of East Brewton; two sons, Robert J. Smith Jr. of East Brewton, and Billy Smith of Brewton; three daughters, Patty Pace of Brewton, Peggy Emmons of Prattville, and Kathryn Raulenhorst of Tuscon, Ariz.; a step-daughter, Jessica Osborn of Ashland, Ohio; two brothers, William David Smith of Georgiana, and Calvin Smith of  East Brewton; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11 p.m. at Ridge Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Eisenburg and the Rev. Lee Cadenhead officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
