The 2013 Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team will begin their season Tuesday, Feb. 5 with a doubleheader home game against Central Alabama Community College. The game will be one of three straight home games to start the season.
The home game will be the first of 14 home games this season for the Lady Warhawks with 29 games scheduled and 15 away. All games will be doubleheader games for the Lady Warhawks.
Also, included in the 29 games, JDCC will play in two away tournaments.
The Lady Warhawks will play eight conference games with all scheduled as doubleheaders. Four of the games will be road games and four will be home games.
Conference opponents for JDCC this season include Alabama Southern, Bishop State, Faulkner State and LBW.
The roster for JDCC includes 19 players. Of the 19 players, 10 are sophomores and nine are freshman. Sixteen of the players are from Alabama with two coming from Florida and one from Louisiana. Of the 16 Alabama players, two are from Flomaton and one is from Excel.
JDCC is coached by head coach Misti Nims. Nims is assisted by Ed Johnson.
