Pleasant Home sweeps WSN basketball

In their next-to-last regular game of the year Friday night at Pleasant Home, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles and varsity Eagles both took losses.
In girls action, Pleasant Home won big in a 46-15 rout to drop the Lady Eagles to 0-13. Pleasant Home’s boys got a 42-30 senior night victory over W.S. Neal on Friday to drop the Eagles to 3-11 overall.
The B-team Eagles lost 41-29 to fall to 2-8 this season. No scorers or stats was known as of press time from the B-team game.
W.S. Neal was set to end their regular season with a road game at Flomaton Monday night. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Eagles and varsity Eagles will play in their area tournaments Thursday and Friday.
The Lady Eagles will travel to Cottage Hill Thursday to take on the Lady Warriors at 6 p.m. The varsity Eagles will travel to Bayside Academy Friday and take on Cottage Hill at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Eagles of East Brewton finished as the No. 4 seed in area play this season while the varsity Eagles took the No. 3 seed. With a win Thursday, the Lady Eagles will take on the T.R. Miller/Bayside Academy winner at 3 p.m. Saturday for the area championship. If the varsity Eagles win their game Friday, they will play the T.R. Miller/Bayside winner for the area championship Monday at 6 p.m.
PH 46, WSN Lady Eagles 15
The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles scored no more than six points in a quarter Friday night and were held scoreless in the fourth quarter as the Pleasant Home Lady Eagles soared to a 31-point win over W.S. Neal, 46-15.
Pleasant Home led the Lady Eagles 13-6 after one quarter and 29-10 at the half after outscoring the Lady Eagles of East Brewton 16-4 in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Pleasant Home extended their lead to 41-15 heading into the fourth quarter after they held a 12-5 advantage in the third.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal was held scoreless while Pleasant Home ended the game on a 5-0 run to get the win.
KeKe Floyd led W.S. Neal with six points.
PH 42, WSN varsity Eagles 30
The W.S. Neal varsity Eagles took their eighth straight loss Friday night at Pleasant Home as they were handed a 12-point loss, 42-30.
The two teams played even in the first quarter with Pleasant Home holding a 10-9 advantage heading into the second quarter.
In the second, Pleasant Home began to pull away from the Eagles as they outscored W.S. Neal 15-6 to hold a 25-15 halftime lead.
The third quarter was not much better for W.S. Neal as Pleasant Home used a 10-3 run to increase their lead to 35-18 heading into the fourth. In the fourth, W.S. Neal mounted a late rally as they outscored Pleasant Home 12-7, but failed to get any closer as Pleasant Home came away with the 12-point win.
Josiah Nettles led W.S. Neal with 11 points in the loss.
