JDCC baseball splits in Mississippi

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team ended their four-game losing streak, but started another one after they split two games over the weekend in Mississippi.
The Warhawks won their first game on Saturday after defeating Southeastern Community College 6-1. In game two, JDCC lost to Jones County Junior College 4-1 to see their record fall to 5-6.
JDCC will play at Pensacola State College Tuesday before returning home on Thursday to face Spring Hill College in a noon doubleheader.

With the game tied 1-1 after one inning, the Warhawks scored five unanswered to end their four-game losing streak with a 6-1 win over Southeastern College.
Mark Humphreys, Kyle Freeman, Andrew Tindell, Hunter Myrick, Alex Jones, Logan Hill, Michael Fox and Wes Dickey all had hits in the win.
Humphreys, Tindell, Myrick, Jones and Hill all had RBIs.
Tyler Howell and John Williams pitched in the win.
Howell went five innings and allowed four hits, one earned run, walked two and struck out three.
Williams went two innings and allowed one hits, no runs, walked one and struck out four.
Jones 4, JDCC 1
In game two, JDCC was held to only five hits and one run in a 4-1 loss to Jones.
Brandon Ray, Myrick, Reid Johnson, Hill and Dickey had hits in the loss.
Michael Yarborough and Tyler Murphy pitched in the loss. Yarborough went four innings and allowed five hits, four runs, two earned, walked and struck out one. Murphy went two innings and allowed two hits, no runs or walked and struck out one.
