Mrs. Bertie Mae Bruson Waldrep, 87, of Pine Street, died Saturday March 23, 2013 at a local hospital after  a brief illness. She was a native of Woodland, Ala., and a resident of Marietta, Ga. before moving to Brewton. She  graduated from Woodland High School in Randolph County, worked for Bell South for more than 20 years, and was a member of the Brewton First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Waldrep; two daughters, Janette Abbuehi and Annette Ortega; two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Cindy) Waldrep of Brewton; and 10 grandchildren, Spencer Waldrep, Weston Waldrep, Nicholas Waldrep, Michael Ortega, Jessie Ortega, Chris Ortega, Beverly Harrison, Kent Wilson, Donna Wilson, and Rance Wilson
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Brewton First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Finklea and the Rev. Robert Butler officiating.  Burial followed  at Union Cemetery in Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
