Richard Betts

Mr. Richard Betts, 56, died March 24, 2013. He was a native and resident of Brewton, and a member of Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, Fla. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Pearl Betts and John T. White; a son, two brothers and two sisters.
He s survived by his wife, Margaret G. Betts of Brewton; his daughters, LaKeshia Betts of Brewton, SAKido “Kiki” Betts of Orlando, Fla., Syreeta Betts of Pensacola, and Kawonico of California; a step-daughter, Quintina “Angel” McCants of Orlanda; and adopted son, Antonio “Poppy” Johnson of Orlando; his step-mother, Kattie Ruth White of Brewton; his mother-in-law, Eloise Square of Brewton; ten grandchildren; his brothers, Jerry (Mary) Betts of Pensacola, John T. (Joann) White, and Robert White of Brewton; his sisters, Carolyne Betts (Lorenzo) Hawkins of California, Brenda Renee´Betts of Pensacola, Elizabeth White of Ocala, Fla., and Kathie (Willie) Benjamin of Brewton; two brothers-in-law, Willie F. Godbolt and James E. Square; friends, Johnny and Tiajuana Jackson, James and Geneva Profnitz, John and Mary Lee and the Rev. Malone and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held March 29, at 2 p.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Blue officiating. Burial followed at Old Springhill Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
