Evelyn Eileen Jones Williams

Evelyn Eileen Williams, 89, died March 28, 2013 at Serenity House in Santa Barbara after a lengthy illness.
She was a 1952 graduate of Repton High School and worked for Monroe Mills, Vanity Fair in the order department. She worked for Lewis Bear Company for a short time working for I.L. Lyons until 1961 when she moved to California. While in California, she worked as a comptometer operator for Chefs Vendors moving to G.E. Tempo where she became a keypunch operator, later working for UCSB as a keypunch operator being promoted to computer supervisor. She and her husband managed Sambo’s Restaurant in Tallahassee, Fla., until 1977 when they returned to Santa Barbara where she became employed with the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1999 with 20 years of service. Following retirement she returned to Brewton from 2000 to 2003 returning to Santa Barbara to become a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sena Samantha Crutchfield Jones Hall; her father, Lucien Jones; a brother, Andrew Crutchfield and John Raymond “Bud” Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Daniel H. “Happy” Williams; and a daughter, Kimberly Kaye Williams of Mobile.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at the Range Freewill Baptist Church in Range with the Rev. Bobby Boatwright officiating. Burial will follow in the Ramah Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Lenox with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
