JDCC softball swept at Bishop State

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team fell to 10-29 overall and to 2-4 in conference play as they were swept by Bishop State in Mobile.
JDCC lost game one 4-2 and game two 6-4.
“Overall good effort on our part,” JDCC head coach Misti Nims said. “We have put unnecessary pressure on our self that we are playing to tensed. We need to relax and hit to score. This week’s practices have been more relaxed and going back to basics. We have a very capable team but our emotions are getting the best of us.”
In game one, Sarah Beth Watkins was 2-for-4 and Paige Odom was 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI. Mindy Walker was 1-for-2 and Morgan Agerton was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Dymon Coachman was 1-for-2 and Jennifer Fisher was 1-for-4.
Breanna Hall was the losing pitcher as she went six innings and allowed four runs, two earned, walked three, struck out three and allowed four hits.
In game two, Courtney Lowery was 2-for-4 with one RBI and Fisher was 2-for-3 with a double. Odom was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI and Walker was 1-for-4 with a two-run homerun.
Jessica Swindle took the loss in the circle for JDCC as she went 4 1/3 innings and allowed six runs, three earned, walked three, and allowed six hits. Elissa Kelly went 1 1/3 innings and allowed one hit and no runs.
JDCC will host Alabama Southern Wednesday at home at 2 and 4 p.m.
