Mrs. Myrtle Louise Smith, 75, of Century, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at a Century health facility. She was a native of Brewton, and had been a resident of Century since 1960 coming from Brewton. She was a 1958 graduate of W. S. Neal High School. She was retired from Monsanto where she worked as a lab technician. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland R. ‘Buck’ Smith Sr.; her brothers, James Blow and William Joseph “Joe” Blow.
She is survived by her children, Cleveland “Buckie” Rufus (Susan) Smith of McCall, Sonja (Mike) Allen of Bratt, Fla., Tammy (Tom) Wilkerson of Pollard, and Johnnie Joshua (Kimberly) Hughes-Smith of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; her brother, Charles (Cathy) Blow of Navarre, Fla.; her grandchildren, Burton Smith, Brandon Smith, Rachael Smith, Brandy Wilkerson and Johnnie Buck Smith; her great grandchildren, Jackson Smith, Brayden Smith, Robert Weston Spicer, Juliana Smith, Samantha Smith and Dalton Smith.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Union Grove Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Castleberry, with speaker Ronnie Fore and the Rev. Frank Scott officiating, and Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
