Area pastors will gather on the front lawn of the Escambia County Courthouse on Belleville Avenue beginning at 12:05 p.m. Thursday as part of the National Day of Prayer.
The event, which is expected to last a half hour, is part of a nation wide push by ministers across the country to bring Americans together to pray for civic, spiritual and government leaders in communities as well as the nation.
Scheduled to be a part of Thursday’s services will be the Rev. Jack Fitts, the Rev. Chase Clower, the Rev. Bryan Garrett, the Rev. Mike Williams, the Rev. Michael King, the Rev. Todd Ray and the Rev. Tommy Quick.
Weather permitting, area residents are asked to gather near the front entrance of the courthouse. If rain threatens, the service will be moved indoors to the sanctuary at First Baptist Church next door.
