Alma Lou Straughn Hall

Mrs. Alma Lou Straughn Hall, 86, of Belleville Avenue, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, in a local hospital, after an extended illness. She was a native of Range and a resident of Brewton. She attended Jefferson Davis Community College and was an artist, placing her artwork in several southeastern galleries. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brewton and was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Edward Hall; a son, Tommy Wayne Hall; her parents, Thomas and Creasy Straughn; six sisters, Hattie Jerkins, Louie Sessions, Jewel Davis, Earnestine Morris, Mazella Davis, and Imogene Wright.
She is survived by one sister, Blanche Robinson; three children, Gloria Hall Grant and Dr. Horace E. Hall II, both of Pensacola, Fla., and Autry Stevenson (Kirsten) Hall, of Brewton; four grandchildren, Tammy (Chuck) McMullen of Valrico, Fla., Tina (Herschel) Horne of Pensacola, Lee (Lisa) Hall of Flomaton, and Audrey Hall of Brewton; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Williams Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 5, from 5 to 6 p.m. for family, and 6 to 8  p.m. for family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 10 a.m., and will be officiated by the Rev. Jack E. Fitts, of Brewton First Baptist Church. Graveside service to follow at New Hopewell Baptist Church in Castleberry, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Ryan Hendricks, Grant McMullen, Garrett McMullen, and James McMullen. Condolences may be sent and obituaries can be read at williamsmemorialchapel.com.
