Alabama State Troopers have confirmed the death of a local teenager in a crash Monday on Travis Road just after 5 p.m.

Nicholas Robinson, 13, was killed when the pickup truck he was riding in left the roadway, struck a power pole and over turned. Troopers say they are continuing an investigation to determine if Robinson was a passenger inside the cab of the truck or in the truck bed at the tie of the crash.

The driver of the 2002 Chevy Silverado was listed as Earl D. Dickerson, 33, of East Brewton. His condition was not immediately known.

Although rumors have circulated throughout the community since the crash occurred, no other details of those injured have been released by officials.
