Mr. Leon Wilson Sr., 81, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at his residence. He was a native of Ridge, Md., and had been a resident of Atmore since 1979, coming from Baltimore, Md. He was a veteran the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Navy, and was a farmer and carpenter by trade. He was of the Catholic faith and attended Cross Point Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollis Helen Wilson; and a brother, Calvin Wilson.
He is survived by three son, Leon (Donna) Wilson Jr. of Baltimore, Keith Joseph (Sherry) Wilson of Panama City, Fla., and Walter Scott (Bridget) Wilson of Atmore; one daughter, Mary Martha Clauson of Baltimore; a brother, Carl Wilson of Hereford, Md.; sisters,  Betty Lou Norris of North Carolina, and Thelma Fletcher of Baltimore; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home.  Burial followed in Weaver Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing. .
