Jessie Lynwood Davis

Mr. Jessie Lynwood Davis, 97, of Flomaton, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in a local nursing facility. He was born in Leesville, Texas and had been a resident of Flomaton for the past 49 years, coming from Louisiana. He served with the Seabees during World War II, and worked in the construction industry as a welder and pipefitter. He was a member of Norris Masonic Lodge and attended the First Baptist Church of Flomaton.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Lynwood “Bo” Daniel.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mrs. Mary Alice Davis of Flomaton; two sons, Joseph P. (Annette) Davis and Jesse Lynwood Davis; one daughter, Ronda Lynne Daniel all of Brewton; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lynne Clements, Mary Margaret Powell, Sally Renniger, Laura Reavis, Jacob Davis and Mallory Davis; nine great- grandchildren, Trey Clements, Katie Clements, Bella Powell, Kolby Powell, Laney Powell, Shelby Reavis, Zackary Reavis, Jordyn Reed and Kaelyn Reed.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Joseph Pete Davis officiating. Interment followed at the Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements..
Pallbearers were Jacob Davis, Wayne Reavis, Don Clements, Ryan Powell, Maurice Barton and Pat Jarvis.
