Odile Antoinette Gillis

Mrs. Odile Antoinette Sellier Gillis, 90, of Brewton passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, in a local nursing facility after an extended illness.
She was a native of Gulf Port, Miss., and a long ime resident of Brewton. She was a member of Saint Maurice Catholic Church, where she taught Sunday School for 16 years, played the organ for 33 years, and was the treasurer of the Altar Society. Mrs. Gillis was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a retired secretary from Pollard-McCall Junior High School with 27 years of service.
Survivors include three sons, Frank (Linda) Gillis of San Antonio, Texas, Bill (Terry) Gillis of Brewton, and Jim Gillis of Aliceville; one daughter, Cathy (Allan) Campagna of New Orleans; five grandchildren, Jonathan Gillis, Zachery Gillis, Myah Herbert, Nnathan Gillis and Shanna Gillis; and one great-grandchild, Jay Armstrong.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Adrian Cook and the Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Catawba Springs Cemetery in Brewton.
