Joey Wayne Smith, 51, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, in Mobile.

Mr. Smith was a native and former resident of Brewton and had resided in Fruitdale for the past two years. Mr. Smith was a very hard worker and attended the New Hopewell Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Linda Smith, and one brother, Dennis Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Lollar of Fruitdale; dog, China; two step-sons, Timothy Dykes of Fruitdale and Jason Dykes of Fruitdale,; one Daughter, Chelsey Danielle Smith of Chickasaw; two step-daughters, Laura Holland of StateLine, Miss., and Priscilla Castle of Irvington; one brother, Shannon Odom of Brewton; one sister, Donna Lynn Goree of Saraland; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Bell officiating.

Burial followed at the Canoe Freewill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Phillip Holland, Joseph Keller, Joe Mentz, Chris Emmons, Garrett Goree and Dalton Goree.
