Mr. Edgar Allen Morris, Sr., 79, of Hwy 41, Brewton, died Wednesday, Dec 4, 2013, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County and was of the Baptist faith. He was a former member of the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department and served in the Army/National Guard. He was retired from a career in the oil fields.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Hattie Mae Gaffney; two brothers Richard Morris and Frank Morris; one sister Ida Mae Morris.
He is survived by his wife Pansey Searcy Morris of Brewton; two sons, Allen Morris, Jr. and David Morris, both of Brewton; one daughter, Kathy (Billy) Emmons of Brewton; two brothers, Dewey Morris of Brewton and Buddy Morris of Cantonment, Fla.; two sisters, Amy Henry of Mississippi and Eleanor Whitcre of South Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Interment followed in Hanberry Cemetery of Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
