Mr. John Godwin, 66, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 in Bay Minette,Alabama.

Mr. Godwin was a native and life long resident of Atmore. Mr. Godwin was a Merchant Seaman and attended Southside Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Bertha Godwin, and a granddaughter, Kayla Godwin.

Survivors include his four sons, James Godwin of Repton, Tommy Godwin of Lottie, Todd Godwin of Haines City, Fla., and John Godwin of Molino, Fla.,; one daughter, Jessica White of Andalusia; one Brother, Roy Godwin of Bay Minette; four sisters, Norma Waters of Pensacola, Fla., Doris Fair of Johnson City, Tenn., JoAnn Simpson of Pensacola, Fla., and Peggy Tenney of Monroeville; and 10 grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at noon at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, from 10 a.m. until service time at noon at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers will be Troy Brown, Tommy Godwin, Todd Godwin, David Kearley, Roy Godwin and Chase Godwin.
