FSCC Sun Chiefs drops JDCC basketball 87-76

Facing off against the Faulkner State Sun Chiefs Thursday night at home, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team was handed their fourth straight loss as they took an 87-76 loss.
JDCC, who fell to 3-14 overall and to 1-8 in conference play, was outscored by 14 points in the first half (48-34) before holding a 42-39 scoring advantage in the second half.
Christian Jones led the Warhawks in scoring with 21 points. Jones was joined in double figures by three others as Mikwese Claybourne added 17 points and Chris Oden had 14. Jaquan Threatt finished out the JDCC scorers in double figures as he added 12 in the loss.
Anthony Bell finished with six points, Keaynon Gulley chipped in four points and Darren Wilson had two.
Jones led with eight rebounds for the Warhawks while Threatt led with eight assists. Jones and Claybourne both finished with one block each in the loss to lead JDCC while Gulley led with three steals.
JDCC shot 7-for-9 from the free throw line in the defeat while Faulkner State was 20-for-26.
JDCC was scheduled to play at Chattahoochee Valley Monday and at Wallace-Selma Thursday at 7:30 p.m. before returning home on Monday, Feb. 24 to take on Alabama Southern. Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Brewton.
