The Lady Warhawk softball team of JDCC went 2-2 in games Saturday and Sunday to improve to 7-16 overall this year.
JDCC head coach Misti Nims said she likes the way her team is playing right now.
“We lost 2-0 Saturday to Three Rivers CC in first game,” Nims said. “Kaitlin Hadaway gave up a two-run homerun in the first inning but settled down and struck out six in the next six innings. The pitcher from Three Rivers kept us off balance and was unable to score. In game two we took a 1-0 loss when they scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning. We had bases loaded in the seventh with two outs and could not get a run across. On Sunday, Hadaway pitched a great game through six and got the win with Jessica Swindle on the save in a 6-4 score against Carl Sandburg. Breanna Hall got the game two win with an outstanding performance. We scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 0-0 game to beat St. Louis CC 3-0. The weekend was a success. We played some great competition and are finally playing together as a team. We are 4-4 this month and our goal is to focus on one game at a time and peak at the right time.”
