JDCC Warhawk baseball sweeps Faulkner State Saturday

After having to go 14 innings Thursday at home to down conference foe Faulkner State, the JDCC Warhawk baseball team finished off a sweep of the Sun Chiefs Saturday at home as they came away with wins of 5-4 and 12-2. The sweep of Faulkner State improved JDCC’s overall record to 11-15 overall and their conference record to 7-8.
Game one: JDCC 5, FSCC 4
In game one Saturday, JDCC defeated Faulkner State 5-4. The Warhawks plated three runs in the third inning and two in the fifth while Faulkner scored one each in the first and sixth innings and two in the fourth.
Garrett Davis earned the win on the mound for the Warhawks while Tyler Henry earned the save.
Davis went six innings and allowed 10 hits, four runs, all earned, walked none, and struck out two.
Henry went three innings and allowed three hits, no runs, walked none and struck out two.
At the plate, Jonathan Moore had a double and two RBIs while John-Mark Cosby had two hits and Logan Hill had three. Craig Headley added one hit and one RBI while Taylor Fought had a hit and two RBIs.
Dake Rivers had a hit, Michael Fox had two along with Brandon Davis while Brandon Goins had one hit.
Game two: JDCC 12, FSCC 2
In game two, the Warhawks 10-run ruled the Sun Chiefs 12-2 in five innings to finish off the sweep.
JDCC held Faulkner to one run each in the first and third innings while getting three of their own in the first, four in the fourth and five in the fifth to get the win by 10.
Nick Helton pitched the complete game win as he went five innings and allowed seven hits, two runs, one earned, walked two and struck out one.
At the plate, Moore had three hits and one RBI while Cosby had one hit. Hill went 3-for-4 with four RBIs while Alex Jones had two hits with one being a double and two RBIs.
Fought had one double and one RBI and Fox had a double. Davis was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Goins had three hits in the win.
