The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team saw their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 3-0 home loss to Wallace State-Hanceville.
In the loss, JDCC dropped set one 25-10 and set two by a score of 25-10 as well. In the third set, the Lady Warhawks lost 25-9.
No individual stats were known as of press time.
With the loss, the Lady Warhawks fell to 4-9 overall and to 2-5 in conference play.

It may have taken five sets, but the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team came away with a 3-2 win at Huntingdon Monday night to improve their record to 3-8 overall.
JDCC won set one 25-22, but suffered a 25-23 loss in set two and a 25-12 loss in set three to fall behind in the match 2-1.
In set four, JDCC evened the match up at 2-all with a 25-15 win. In the fifth and final set tiebreaker, the Lady Warhawks earned a 15-13 win to claim the win.
“We played good in spurts,” JDCC head coach Steven Dickey said of the win. “Morgan Smith played very well at the net with four blocks and three kills. Lauren Bradley also played well in the middle with three blocks and three kills. Morgan Payne and Natalie Jernigan played great defense and passed well from the back row.”
Jessica Lewis led in kills with 10 and Lauren Pierce had eight while Jessica Porter and Christian Divens had seven and five respectively.
“Lauren Merts had another good night setting while Caitlin Aldridge, Tiffany Sawyer and Taylor Bradford played well too,” Dickey said. “It was a tough, hard fought win, and one we needed going into our conference match up with Lawson state on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.”

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team picked up their second straight win Wednesday at home as they downed Lawson State 3-1. The win for the Lady Warhawks improved them to 4-8 overall and to 2-4 in conference play.
JDCC won set one 25-19 and set two 25-22 to build a 2-0 lead over Lawson, but lost set three 25-21.
In set four, the Lady Warhawks earned a 25-22 win to claim the match.
In the win, Jessica Porter had 13 kills and Lauren Merts had two aces. Natalie Jernigan finished with 17 digs and Morgan Smith added four blocks.
