JDCC basketball now 0-2

Leading 25-21 after the first half of play Saturday at Marion Military Institute, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team was outscored 41-28 in the second half to take a nine-point loss, 62-53. With the loss, the Warhawks fell to 0-2 overall this season.
Adrian Rich led JDCC with 22 points and was followed by Jerry Aaron’s 12. Ty’Qwan Bonner added seven points while Brandon Davis had four.
Fletcher Forte and Keenan Williams both had three points in the loss while Darren Wilson had two.
Rich, Aaron, and Williams all led with six rebounds. The trio had three offensive and three defensive. Bonner added three defensive rebounds while Wilson had three on offense.
Williams added nine assists in the loss while Bonner led with three steals. Aaron and Davis had one block each.
JDCC was 8-for-11 from the free throw line while MMI shot 18-22. JDCC committed 22 turnovers to MMI’s 18 and was out rebounded 32-21. JDCC had 14 assists to MMI’s 18.
The Warhawks shot 37.5 percent from the field compared to MMI’s 41.2 percent.
