TRM Lady Tigers start season 1-2

T.R. Miller’s Lady Tiger basketball team may have opened their season against Rocky Bayou Monday night at Choctawhatchee, but it was nothing rocky about it.
The Lady Tigers started their season 1-0 with a 38-1 win over Rocky Bayou. The Lady Tigers held Rocky Bayou to only point the entire game as Rocky Bayou made a free throw in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Tigers of TRM led 13-0 after one quarter of play and 25-0 at the half. In the third quarter, TRM outscored Rocky Bayou 8-0 to push their lead to 33-0.
In the fourth, the Lady Tigers ended the game on a 5-1 run to get the win by 37 points.
Mekiah Williams led with 14 points and Emonea Curry added seven. Kyla Bell chipped in five points along with Akilah Brazile and Tykeria Stallworth.
Steely Ruzic added two points in the win.
After holding their opponent Rocky Bayou to only point Monday in their season opener in Choctawhatchee, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers lost their next two games of the tourney and season to fall to 1-2 overall this season.
The Lady Tigers lost to Crestview 62-49 on Wednesday after falling to Walton 50-28 on Tuesday.
Walton 50, TRM Lady Tigers 28
Against Walton Tuesday, the Lady Tigers lost by 22 points, 50-28.
Walton led the Lady Tigers 10-5 after one quarter of play and 23-10 at the half following a 13-5 scoring advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Walton held a 12-8 advantage to take a 35-18 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Walton ended the game on a 15-10 run to get the win.
Mekiah Williams and Steely Ruzic both led with eight points each while Morgan Longmire had six. Tiana Stallworth had three points while Kyla Bell and Mykayla Harrison had two points each.
Crestview 62,
TRM Lady Tigers 49
Against Crestview Wednesday, the Lady Tigers were outscored 20-9 in the third quarter to take a 62-49 loss.
TRM led 11-10 after one quarter, but trailed 25-24 at the half after being outscored 15-13 in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers were outscored 20-9 to fall behind 45-33 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, TRM was outscored 17-16.
Mekiah Williams led with 19 points in the loss.
