JDCC basketball ends losing streak, scores just short of 100 points against SHC

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team ended their five-game losing streak in a big way Monday night at home as they came within two points shy of 100 to defeat Spring Hill College 98-68.
The 30-point non-conference win improved the Warhawks of JDCC to 4-13 overall.
In the game Monday, the JDCC Warhawks soared to a 54-29 lead after one half of play before outscoring SHC 44-39 in the second half.
All 11 Warhawk players scored in the win as Adrian Rich led the team with 20 points.
Keenan Williams added 13 points while Brandon Davis and LaBrannon Nix joined in double figures with 10 points each.
Zollie Johnson, Jarvis Knight, and Jerry “LJ” Aaron all added eight points each while Lance Davis contributed seven points.
Fletcher Forte added six points, Truman Whitaker added five, and Ty’Qwan Bonner finished with three points in the win for the Warhawks.
Lance Davis led the Warhawks with five offensive rebounds while Aaron led with five on defense along with Whitaker. Whitaker led overall with nine total rebounds in the win.
Williams led the team with eight assists while the Davis duo of Lance Davis and Brandon Davis both had three steals each.
Brandon Davis led the Warhawks with one block.
JDCC shot 52.1 percent from the field, 41.9 percent from the 3-point area and was 11-for-15 from the free throw line for 73.3 percent.
JDCC will be back in conference play Thursday night at home as they will host Bishop State at 7 p.m.
