Warhawk baseball team drops third straight game

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team suffered their third straight loss Tuesday at home as they were defeated by Pensacola State 12-9 in extra innings.
Leading PSC 7-1 after three innings, the Warhawks were outscored 7-1 in the remaining six innings to see the game get tied at 8-all and force extra innings.
After both teams failed to score in the 10th inning, PSC put up four runs in the 11th inning to take a 12-8 lead over the Warhawks. JDCC added one run in the bottom of the 11th, but could not get any closer as they took the loss by three.
JDCC led PSC 2-0 after one inning and 3-0 after two innings.
Nick Boswell, Bailey Hansen, Dylan Johnson, Nick Helton and Chase Laney all pitched in the loss for the Warhawks and combined to throw 11 innings and allowed 15 hits, 12 runs, 10 earned, walked six, hit two and struck out five.
At the plate for the Warhawks, John-Mark Cosby was 2-for-7 with one RBI and a double while Craig Headley had one RBI.
Brandon Goins had the hot bat for JDCC in the loss as he went 4-for-6 with two RBIs and had two doubles. Dake Rivers went 2-for-4 and had a double. Heath Young was 1-for-3 with one RBI while Taylor Baynes was 2-for-2 with one RBI. Brandon Bilek finished with one RBI in the loss.
PSC made six errors in the win while JDCC made four.
