DWM and WSN softball plan April 5Ks

For those people who like to run/walk in 5Ks, the month of April is for you. There will be two local races in April Sat., April 11 and Sat., April 18 each benefiting local groups.
Sat., April 11: DW McMillan Hospital 7th annual Relay for Life 5K Run/Walk “Crawl-Walk-Run-Marathon”
The first race will be DW McMillan Hospital’s 7th annual Relay for Life 5K Run/Walk “Crawl-Walk-Run-Marathon.”
Early registration is set for Feb. 16 through April 8. Early registration for adults is $20 while kids ages 8-14 will be $10.
Race day registration, April 11 from 7:30 to 8 a.m., will see adults for $22 and kids for $10.
The location of the race will be at the Brewton Medical Center. Make checks payable to the American Cancer Society.

To ensure your shirt size, return registration forms in by April 3 by 3 p.m.
The race will run at 8 a.m.
Each age group division will have their winners with first, second and third place awards being given out for each group, male or female.
There will be awards for the top overall male in the race and the top overall female in the race.
The race will see the original route: from Medical Center, take right onto Belleville, through caution light to courthouse, left onto Henderson Street, straight and turn directly left onto Evergreen Avenue, all the way down Evergreen, left onto Underwood, right back onto Belleville back to Medical Center. The race is 3.1 miles.
All proceeds go to the Escambia County Relay for Life.
Sat., April 18: Eagle Dash Color Run
The W.S. Neal High School Lady Eagles softball team will host their first annual Eagle Dash 5K Color Run on Sat., April 18. The race will run at WSNHS at 8:30 a.m.
Proceeds from the event will go to support the WSN softball team.
There will be race awards for age groups and t-shirts will be provided for the first 75 participants to register.
Registration is $20 for adults 13 and older, $50 for a family of four, or $10 for the kid’s fun run (age 12 or younger).
Students are encouraged to register as a team and dress in a costume. Teams with eight or more participants receive a reduced registration fee of $15 for each person. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed.
