TRM softball to host tourney Friday and Saturday

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger and W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball teams will play in the T.R. Miller Invitational Fri. and Sat., March 6-7, in Brewton at the YMCA Sports Park. A total of eight teams will play in the tournament.
T.R. Miller will be in pool A with Flomaton, McGill-Toolen and Davidson while W.S. Neal will be in pool B with J.U. Blacksher, Leroy and Northview.
Pool A will play on field D at the YMCA Sports Park while pool B will play on field A.
The tournament will begin on Friday, at 4 p.m., and will T.R. Miller will play McGill-Toolen on Field D while W.S. Neal will play Northview on Field A.
At 5:15 p.m., Flomaton will play Davidson on Field D while J.U. Blacksher and Leroy will play on Field A. At 6:30 p.m., Davidson and T.R. Miller will play on Field D while W.S. Neal and Leroy will play on Field A. At 7:45 p.m., McGill-Toolen and Flomaton will play to end day one while Northview and J.U. Blacksher will play on Field A.
The tournament will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. when T.R. Miller will play Flomaton on field D and J.U. Blacksher will take on W.S. Neal on field A.
At 10:15 a.m., Davidson and McGill-Toolen will play on Field D while Leroy and Northview will tangle on Field A.
Following an 11:30 a.m. to noon lunch break, the single elimination tournament will begin at noon.
At noon, the No. 3 seed from pool A will play the No. 2 seed from pool B on Field D while the No. 3 seed from pool B will play the No. 2 seed from pool A on Field A.
At 1:15 p.m., the No. 4 seed from pool B will play the No. 1 seed from pool A on Field A while the No. 4 seed from pool A will take on the No. 1 seed from pool B on Field D.
All winners will advance to play at 2:30 p.m. with winners from that game playing for the tournament championship at 4 p.m.
All teams are guaranteed four games and trophies will be presented to the first and second place team.
In case of a tie, tie-breakers will be: head-to-head, total points allowed, total points scored, then a coin flip.
No new inning will start after one hour and 10 minutes. The international tiebreaker rule will be used, except for the finals. No time limit will be used in the finals.
