JDCC softball goes 4-2 in recent six-game stretch

In their most recent six games, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks softball team went 4-2 to move their overall record to 23-21 and to 7-5 in conference play.
The Lady Warhawks started off their six games Thursday at home as they split with Chattahoochee Valley. JDCC lost game one 10-1, but took game two by a score of 4-3.
On Saturday at home, JDCC swept Wallace-Dothan 8-1 and 5-4.
On Tuesday, JDCC traveled to Monroeville to face Alabama Southern and earned a split.
JDCC won game one 3-1 for their fourth straight win. In game two, JDCC lost 6-5.
No stats or game information from Tuesday’s games with ASCC were known as of press time.
JDCC is scheduled to host LBW Thursday in Brewton for another conference doubleheader. Game times are set for 1 and 3 p.m.
Thursday game one: CVCC 10, JDCC 1
In a scoreless game through four innings, Chattahoochee Valley outscored JDCC 10-1 over the final three innings to hand JDCC a nine-run loss.
JDCC was held to one lone run in the fifth inning and to only two hits in the game. The Lady Warhawks made three errors in the loss while CVCC had nine hits and made no errors.
Jordan Swindle and Katlin Bryars had one hit each for JDCC in the loss.
In the pitching circle, Kaitlin Hadaway took the loss as she went all seven innings and allowed nine hits, 10 runs, five earned, walked one and struck out one. CVCC hit three homeruns in the game.
Thursday game two: JDCC 4, CVCC 3
Down 3-0 after the top of the fourth inning, JDCC scored four unanswered runs to defeat CVCC 4-3 in game two to earn the split.
At the plate for JDCC, Audrey Hamric led with a 1-for-3 day including a double and two RBIs.
Chelsey Ramer, Moriah Trujillo, Shaquanna Jones and Alicia Richardson all had one hit each. Katlin Hamilton had one RBI for the Lady Warhawks.
In the pitching circle, Hannah Brake earned the win as she went all seven innings and allowed seven hits, three runs, one earned, walked two and struck out two.
Saturday game one: JDCC 8, Wallace-Dothan 1
In game one against Wallace State of Dothan Saturday, JDCC earned an 8-1 win.
Hadaway earned the pitching win as she went all seven innings and allowed five hits, one unearned run, walked three and struck out four.
JDCC pounded out 11 hits in the win with Brake, Savannah Allen, Swindle and Bryars having two hits each. Ramer, Paige Wooley and Paige Lambeth all had one hit each. Ramer had a triple while Brake and Lambeth had a double each. Lambeth led with three RBIs while Ramer had two and Hamric, Brake and Swindle all had one.
Saturday game two: JDCC 5, Wallace-Dothan 4
JDCC earned the sweep of WSD in game two as they earned a 5-4 win in nine innings.
Brake and Hadaway pitched in the win and combined to go nine innings and allowed 10 hits, four runs, two earned, walked four, struck out two and hit one batter.
Hamric led the Lady Warhawks at the plate with a 3-for-4 day including a double and two RBIs.
Ramer and Bryars added one hit each while Allen, Swindle, Hamilton and Jones had two each. Hamilton finished with a double and one RBI. Ramer and Swindle had one RBI each in the win.
