WSN baseball earns fourth straight win Tuesday against MCHS

On senior night Tuesday in East Brewton, the W.S. Neal Eagles baseball team had to hold on to get a 10-8 win over Monroe County.
Leading 10-1 after five innings, WSN gave up seven runs to MCHS in the top of the seventh to see their lead get cut to 10-8, but the Eagles were able to hang on for the win by two runs.
The win was WSN’s fourth straight win as they moved to 11-8 overall this season.
Malcolm Hawthorne and Jacobey Hawthorne led WSN in the win at the plate as both went 3-for-4. M. Hawthorne had a double and one RBI while J. Hawthorne added five RBIs.
Miles Powell, Dakota Graves and Quantae Barksdale all had one hit each in the win. Barksdale had one RBI for the Eagles.
On the mound, Jared Cooper, Lane Chavers, Dalton Shell, Matt Hutchins and J. Hawthorne all pitched.
The five pitchers combined to go seven innings and allowed six hits, eight runs, seven earned, walked 10, hit one and struck out 13.
