A full-service tanning salon has recently opened in the Douglas Square Shopping Center in Brewton as Jason and Cary Pierce have opened Tan Lines Salon.
“I just wanted a nice place for people to come and tan,” Cary said. “We also have swimsuits and other accessories. We have been open for four weeks. We have had a lot of people still say that they didn’t know we were open yet even after advertising, Facebook and everything else.”
Pierce said the salon is open Monday through Saturday right now and has plans to expand hours once business picks up.
“Once business picks up we will be open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but right now we are just by appointment,” she said.
Tan Lines Salon currently offers six beds, swimsuits, lotions, creams and other accessories.
“We have six beds and we do lotions and we are offering to help those do it the right way,” she said. “We don’t want anyone to come in and get burned. We are full-service. We offer headphones if you want to listen to music, we have an area in the back to change and freshen up if you come in on your lunch break. We clean the beds after each use. I just wanted something with a little more intimate setting.”
Pierce said she has plans to bring in other items next spring along with other items.
“During the summer we offer swimsuits, but hopefully by next spring, because they only do contracts in the spring, we plan to have Guy Harvey,” she said. “We missed that this year, so hopefully next year we can have Guy Harvey and Southern Life. We want to get some guy things in here as well. I also found a distributer for prom dresses this past prom season as well.”
Pierce said Tan Lines Salon has specials every week and they are posted on the salon’s Facebook page.
“We offer specials on lotions some times and then change it up every week,” she said. “We have a level one bed that is a 20-minute bed all the way up to a mega bed, which is a 10-minute bed. We rate your skin tone and let you know the ideal thing to get you to your goal. We have had some girls who are getting married and we start them off slow and work them up to what they want before their wedding.”
Tan Lines Salon is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The salon is located at 2103 Douglas Avenue in Brewton. For more information, contact 251-314-1977.
