The Rottschafer Daycare Inc. will host dedication services for its new building Sunday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m., at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton. PGMBC is located on Kirkland Road.
Florence Rowser is the president of the board for Rottschafer said it has taken the center 10 years to get to this point.
“I just want to thank God and everyone for what they have done in helping me get to this point,” Rowser said. “We just want to be a blessing to all the little children.
“We want to teach them and be an asset to the community,” she said. “I am just thankful this has come to fruition.”
Rowser said she started the project in 1995.
“I just saw a need,” she said. “I knew some day we would have to give up that old building. I just went for it with good faith in God. The people have made it happen.
“It hasn’t been without set backs, but we have overcome them.”
Margaret King-Howard will be the dedication speaker.
Howard is employed as an educator by the Baldwin County Board of Education in Bay Minette. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Hope College in Holland, Mich. She also received a masters of education from East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
She eventually pursued a career as an educator in the Easton Area School District in Easton, Pa.
She resides in Fairhope with her husband, Lorenzo, where she volunteers as a Guest Services Team Member at 3 Circle Church in Fairhope.
The daycare, currently located at 1787 Kirkland Road in Brewton, will be moving to a new building soon. The new building will be located across from the experimental farms.
