The T.R. Miller cross country teams finished strong at the first races of the season Saturday.
More than 30 athletes traveled to the Pace Invitational Race the girls’ and boys’ varsity and junior varsity teams competed. Out of the 12-team competition, the girls’ varsity team finished sixth, while the boys’ team finished 10th.
TRM junior Allie Nelson finished first overall in the varsity girls’ competition. Other racers included: Tarah Townson, 23:34; Carmen Knowles, 24:08; Madison Lum, 25:18; Samantha Morris, 25:33; Ora Nelson, 25:35; Payton Baxter, 26:53.
First across the finish line for the boys’ varsity team was Travis Carlson with 19:04. Other runners included Micah Flores, 19:49; Andrew Pollite, 20:15; Tailand Mitchell, 20:27; Noah Morris, 20:49; Tucker McDaniel, 20:59; and Tanner McDaniel, 21:20.
