Game preview: speed of Hillcrest a concern

Miller comes into Friday’s showdown against regional rival Hillcrest 3-1. Miller is 13-1 overall in head to head matchup against Hillcrest. Last year TRM beat Hillcrest 42-20. TRM head football coach Jamie Riggs sees an improved Hillcrest team from the prior year. “I have no doubt [Hillcrest] is better this year than they were last year,” Riggs said. “They were ahead at halftime last year. We finally were able to catch up in the second half. “ Riggs knows Hillcrest is a quick starting team. Prior to last week the Tigers were having trouble scoring points early. “They rack up points,” Riggs said. They are a very dangerous offense with a lot of speed. The defense is fast. We got our work cut out for us. We’ll have to play our best game this year to win.”
Hillcrest has outscored opponents 111-60.
Miller has outscored opponents 72-39.
TRM will play Hillcrest Evergreen (2-1) at home, Friday. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
