Hillcrest falls to Bayside

The Hillcrest-Evergreen Jaguars was defeated by the Bayside Academy Admirals, 36-0, in the semifinals of the AHSAA 3A state playoffs this past Friday. The Jaguars eliminated the T.R. Miller Tigers in the quarterfinals.
Hillcrest had three turnovers against Bayside and failed to score three times inside Bayside’s 20.
Leading Hillcrest was JaMichael King who completed 18 passes for 162 yards; Tyrell Riley with six catches for 86 yards; and Mydarius Trujillo with 60 yards rushing.
Bayside (11-3) will play Piedmont (13-1) in the 3A state championship Thurs. in Tuscaloosa. This is Bayside’s first trip to the AHSAA state finals.
Hillcrest finishes its season at 8-6.
