Neal hoops take down Robertsdale

The W.S. Neal B-team, girls and boys varsity competed against Robertsdale on Tues., Dec. 15, with each team pulling out wins to improve their records for the season.
Robertsdale 23, WSN B-team 28
Neal was able to get off to a quick start in the first quarter, outscoring Robertsdale 11-4. Robertsdale would make a run in the third quarter, closing the gap to make the score 22-18 in favor of Neal. But the Eagles would hold Robertsdale to only five points in the fourth quarter while scoring six, to take the win.
Leading WSN was Mateo Smith with eight points and Marvin Maddox with seven points.
The B-team is 3-1 for the season.
Robertsdale 44, WSN girls
Led by KeKe Floyd’s 28-point performance, the Lady Eagles pulled out the win. Neal was able to jump out ahead early, outscoring Robertsdale 12-4 going into the second quarter. The Lady Eagles never relinquished the lead.
Along with her 20 points, Floyd also recorded 12 rebounds. Also leading Neal was Alyssa English with seven points and six rebounds.
The Lady Eagles are 3-6 for the season.
Robertsdale 43, WSN boys 62
The Eagles’ double-digit win was led by Tyshawn Davis’s 20-point performance. The Eagles defense was dominant, particularly in the second, holding Robertsdale to only two points. Neal scored a game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter..
Leading the Eagles was Davis with 20 points and eight rebounds; Troy Lewis with 13 points and six rebounds; and Darius Tolbert with nine points and 10 rebounds.
The Eagles are 7-4 for the season.
Neal will travel to face rival T.R. Miller Fri., Dec. 18. Games start at 4:30 p.m. with the B-team, followed by the varsity girls at 6 p.m., then varsity boys at 7:30 p.m.
