Memphis Bowman ’Bo’ Riddle Jr.

Memphis Bowman “Bo” Riddle Jr., 68, of Riddle Road, Brewton, passed away Tues., Dec. 15, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services were held Sat., Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Quick and Speaker Joe Cain Dozier officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery, Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
He was a native and life long resident of Brewton. He was a U.S. National Guard veteran, a former salesman for Southern Equipment and a cowboy.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Gandy Riddle of Brewton; a son, Shane Riddle of Brewton; two brothers, Hank (Judy) Riddle and Blake (Tracey) Riddle, both of Brewton; two sisters, Tava (Ronnie) Andrews and Jane Harris, both of Brewton; three nieces, Cheyenne Riddle, Britney Shelly and Charlotte Riddle; and four nephews, Weston Riddle, Dylon Pace, Houston Pace and Daniel Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Memphis Bowman Riddle Sr. and Bama Bell Graves Riddle; a son, Hawkins Riddle; and an infant son, Michael Riddle.

Justin Webster Riddle, 37, of Riddle Road, Brewton, passed away Tues., Dec. 15, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services were held Sat., Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Quick and Speaker Joe Cain Dozier officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
He was a native of Pike County and lifetime resident of Brewton. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed anything to do with horses.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Gandy Riddle of Brewton; a brother, Shane Riddle of Brewton; a nephew, Memphis Lane Riddle; and a niece, Bailey Renee Riddle.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Memphis Bowman Riddle Sr. and Bama Bell Graves Riddle; and a brother, Hawkins Riddle.

Bonnie Ruth Minchew Smith, 77, of Denard Street in Brewton, passed away Thurs., Dec. 17, 2015, at her residence after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Sun., Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Quick officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery, Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
She was a native and life long resident of Brewton. She was of the Protestant faith, a former employee of D.W. McMillan Hospital with 12 years of service, and a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Billy (Rosemary) Smith of Jay, Fla., Jerry (Leigh) Smith and Frank (Lynn) Smith, both of Brewton; two daughters, Brenda Hart of Brewton; and Vanessa Smith of Flomaton; one brother, Willard (Betty) Minchew Jr. of Brewton; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smith; her parents, Ruby and Willard Minchew; her sisters, Hazel Meadows, Lillie May Blackwell and Ruby Hutcheson; brothers, Odell Minchew and Hubert Minchew; and her grandmother, Samantha Smith.

Mary Frances “Fran” Clary Curran, 86, of North Street, Brewton, passed away Wed., Dec. 16, 2015, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Sat., Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Garrett officiating. Interment followed in Union Cemetery Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
She was a native of Andalusia and a longtime resident of Brewton. She was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church and a former draw twist operator at Monsanto with 12 years of service.
She is survived by her son, Winford Daniel Maddox of Brewton, and two step-daughters.

Marilyn Webb Allen, 60, passed away on Dec. 9, 2015.
Funeral services were held Thurs., Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at Second Saint John Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. W.J. Dailey officiating. Interment followed at Second Saint John Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
She was born May 18, 1955, to the late William and Edmonia Webb. She was a native of Columbus, Ga. and a resident of Brewton since 1979.
She was a loving person to whom brought smiles, love and positivity to everyone she came across. She will be loved and missed by many.
She is survived by her husband and caregiver, Larry Allen; her daughter, Breanna Nyree Allen; sister, Etheleen Leach; brothers-in-law, Kerr Leach, Dewayne Allen and Charles (Pamela) Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Ollie Stephen Lambeth Kelly

Ollie Stephen Lambeth Kelly, 88, of Century passed away on Sat., Dec. 20, 2015, in Century.
Funeral services will be held today, Wed., Dec. 23, 2015, at Flomaton Funeral Home at 1 p.m.
She was born in Flomaton and spent her lifetime in the Flomaton and Century communities where she worked at Flomaton Hospital. She was of the Holiness faith.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Noah Harris and J.C. Kelly; son, Donnie Lee Harris; daughter, Laurie Harris; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by sons, Noah Charles Harris of Flomaton, Jimmie (Karen) Ray Harris of Esclone, Calif., Bruce Wayne Harris and Billy Joe Harris, both of Flomaton; daughter, Julia Harris Williams of Century; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great, great-grandchildren.

Cornelis “Bert” Bernsen, 87, of Long Beach, passed away Tues., Dec. 15, 2015, in a Pensacola hospital.
Viewing and rosary will be held on Mon., Dec. 28, 2015, from 4 until 8 p.m. Mass and burial will be on Tues., Dec. 29, at All Souls Mortuary, located at 4400 Cherry Avenue Long Beach, Calif., 90807.
He was born in Leiden, Holland, and had been a resident of Long Beach since 1966.
He owned and operated a butcher supply company for a number of years. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria “Miep” Bernsen.
He is survived by a son, Robert Bernsen of Long Beach; three daughers, Pauline (Dr. Scott) Nelson of Brewton, Carol (Lloyd) Tolen of Long Beach and Michelle (Dave) Shaw of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; three sisters, To Burgers of Bilthoven, Netherlands, Connie Doesburg Bernsen of Voorburg, NL, and Ien Van Ouden Hoven of Venlo, NL; and 11 grandchildren.

Marvis Jeanette Ward, 89, passed away Tues., Dec. 22, 2015, in a Brewton nursing facility.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 26, from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Caylor officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sat. from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Russell Scott, Jacob Scott, Lee Knowles Dennis Carter, Eddie Nall, and Troy Ward.
She was born in Castleberry and had been a long time resident of Atmore, coming from Wetumpka.
She worked as an operator for Southland Telephone for a number of years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gasque Ward; mother, Carlie Shipp Carter; brother, Mack Carter; and sister, Elsie Reynolds.
She is survived by three brothers, Billy (Margaret) Carter and Cecil (Pat) Carter, both of Brewton, and Aubrey (Ellen) Carter of Nashville, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
