After suffering losses in their two previous games, the T.R. Miller B-team defeated Excel 45-27.

“We wanted to bounce back strong,” said head coach Marc Edge. “We wanted to start the game strong and fast. We were successful at doing that. We stuck with that plan throughout the game.”

The Tigers outscored Excel 18-13 in the first half. In the third quarter Miller would do their best scoring in the second half, going for 13 points in the third and 14 points in the fourth on their way to the win.

Edge said energy was the key in the win Tuesday night.

“The way we generate points is defense, rebounding and hustle,” Edge said. “We want to play hard the whole game win or lose.”

Leading TRM was Stokes Jennings with nine points and Michael Campbell with eight points.

TRM is 6-2 for the season.
