Miller, Neal bring ‘A’ game

Nelson, Taylor lead top performances at track meet
Cold and damp weather didn’t stop the festivities at the T.R. Miller track and field for TRM and W.S. Neal on Friday.
Teams competing were TRM, WSN, Excel, J.U. Blacksher, Opp, Escambia County, Red Level, Monroe County and Florala.
TRM and WSN faired well with top finishes by the girls and boys teams.
In girls’ competition top finishers were Allie Nelson with three first place finishes in girls’ 1600 meter with a time of 5:24.11, 800 meter, with a time of 2:28.36 and triple jump of 34-10. MaKayla Harrison placed first in the girls’ 100 meters with a time of 15.49, and high jump, with a score of 5-00.00.

Taylor Austin, TRM, first, javelin
Tarah Townsend, TRM, first, 3,200-meter

In boys’ competition the top performer was Miller’s Ahmaud Taylor. Taylor placed first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.10, long jump and triple jump.

•Travis Carlson, TRM, first, 1,600-meter run, 5:11.97
