For the second time this week – and the third in two months – a missing person has been located in Brewton.

But the circumstances of the New Orleans Baptist Theology Seminary student’s discovery, and how he arrived at Brewton’s D.W. McMillan Hospital, are a mystery.

The Baptist Press reported Friday that Russell, 39, has been in DWM’s intensive care unit since April 22 following an unspecified accident.

Hospital officials were unable to identify Russell until Wed., May 4. After identifying Russell, who is still in ICU, Alabama authorities notified NOBTS that he had been found. Russell’s mother has been notified and is traveling to be with him during his recovery, The Press reported.

The Brewton Standard is working with hospital officials to update this developing story.

Tuesday, a Tennessee teen, missing for a week from here Portland, Tenn., home, was dropped off at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

In March, a missing Tallassee girl was found in Brewton after being reported missing for two weeks. A local woman responded to a missing child alert and police were able to confirm the girl’s identity and safely return her to her family.

When asked about the rash of missing people found in Brewton, local law enforcement said there was no “rhyme or reason” to the events.
