Brewton man pleas to attempted murder

A Brewton man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the March attempted murder of h is ex-wife.
Walter Lee Hodges was given a split sentence and must now serve five years in the state department of corrections system and another five years on probation.
Hodges was originally charged with two counts of attempted murder after he rammed a car occupied by his ex-wife and a friend. Hodges had previously threatened his ex-wife with bodily harm, and when he met her vehicle on the Ala. Hwy. 31, he turned around and gave chase before ramming the car twice.
