The deadline for the 2016 Battle of Murder Creek Game T-shirt sale has been extended to Wed., Oct. 12 at noon. Shirts can be purchased at all sizes for $15.

The shirt sale pick up will be Mon., Oct. 24 at D.W McMillan Memorial Hospital at the 2016 Battle of Murder Creek Blood Drive from noon to 7 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided at the blood drive as well as door prizes via drawing.

D.W. McMillan Marketing and PR director Jason Daniel said having the two events coincide was by design for convenience for patrons.

“The reason we do the shirts sales is we’re hoping that people that buy the shirts for the game will come the day of the blood drive and pick them up,” Daniel said. “While they’re there they’ll donate blood. The reason we’ve done that, it gives people of the community two ways to place a vote for their team.

Purchasing a shirt and donating blood will earn a point each for T.R. Miller or W.S. Neal. The school with the most points will earn $500 for their school from the proceeds raised from the t-shirt sales. The remaining funds will be split 50-50 to go towards the American Cancer Society and Wheels of Wellness.

“Ultimately we’re just trying to organize as much support as we can for the blood drive and raise as much money as we can for these two charities,” Daniel said.

The points earned for donated blood is based off the attempt.
