Girls place 5th in Auburn meet

The T.R. Miller cross country team competed in the 20th Annual Auburn Tiger Classic in Auburn this past weekend.

The girls team finished fifth overall out of 12 teams, while the boys team finished eighth overall out of 14 teams.

Allie Nelson placed third overall in the girls 5,000 meter run with a time of 19:25.34. Also placing in the top-20 for the girls was Olivia Blackmon with a 12th place finish time of 20:43.55. Rounding out the top-30 was Carmen Knowles placing 29th with a time of 22:18.63.

For the boys, Micah Flores led the team with a 26th place finish time of 18:46.72.

Tucker McDaniel with a time of 19:29.73; Rider Jernigan with a time of 19:34.33; and Tailand Mitchell with a time of 19:39.03, all placed in the top-50 at No. 40, No. 42 and No. 43 respectively.

TRM will next compete in 3A sectionals on Thurs., Nov. 3.
