Lady Tigers lose to West Morgan, 3-0
Last week the T.R. Miller Tiger volleyball team suffered an early exit from the Class 3A State Volleyball Championships at the hands of West Morgan. Miller lost the match 3-0. Scores for each set were 16-25, 21-25 and 20-25.
TRM coach Terri Lynne Peacock said the team struggle early on ball control in the first set and that overall she is proud of the way her team competed this season.
“Last season our goal was to make it to state, and we did as the No. 4 team from the South,” said Peacock. “This season making it to state was not enough for this team. We were able to win the No. 3 spot for the South at super regionals. We were also aspiring to win Round 1 at state. This team has left a lot for upcoming teams to strive for. We appreciate all the support from the community. Our fans and parents were outstanding this season.”
Leading the Lady Tigers was Taylor Austin with seven kills; and Allie Nelson and Mallori Floyd with six kills each.
Miller finishes its season 15-8.
Bayside Academy defeated Providence Christian in the state finals, 3-0.
