Julie VanDeWater has been named public affairs manager at Georgia-Pacific’s Brewton operations.

In this role, VanDeWater will manage all communications and public affairs for the Brewton facility including employee communications, community relations, media relations and local government affairs.

An Indiana native, VanDeWater holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and journalism from Ball State University. She started her career with Georgia-Pacific at its Muskogee, Oklahoma, mill before moving to Atlanta as manufacturing communications manager to provide public affairs and communications support for GP’s Dixie facilities and corrugated plants. VanDeWater has relocated to Brewton and began her new role on January 2.

Jeff Joyce, vice president of the Brewton facility, stated, “We are pleased to have Julie join our team and look forward to utilizing her professional knowledge and experience in our strategic efforts to enhance internal and external communications.”
